Dive into the vibrant and aromatic world of Malay cuisine with our hands-on cooking class! This unique class will take you through the preparation of three signature Malay dishes, each bursting with flavour, spice, and history. From the spicy kick of tamarind in the Asam Pedas Fish to the sweet and savoury satisfaction of Goreng Kacang Kuda Pedas Manis, and the comforting sweetness of Bubor Kacang dessert, you’ll learn how to create authentic and mouth watering Malay dishes that will wow your friends and family.

What You’ll Learn:

Asam Pedas Fish (Spicy Tamarind Fish Curry)
This rich, flavourful curry features tender fish simmered in a tangy, spicy tamarind broth, infused with traditional Malay spices like lemongrass, ginger, and turmeric. You’ll learn how to balance the fiery heat of chilli with the refreshing sourness of tamarind, creating a mouthwatering dish that’s both vibrant and comforting.

Goreng Kacang Kuda Pedas Manis (Fried Sweet & Spicy Chickpeas)
Discover the perfect balance of sweet and heat in this snack. Goreng Kacang Kuda Pedas Manis is made by frying chickpeas and tossing them in a sticky glaze of brown sugar, chilli, and spices. The result is a crunchy, flavourful treat that’s just the right mix of sweet, salty, and spicy – a perfect side dish or snack to pair with your main meal.

Bubor Kacang (Mung Bean Dessert with Palm Sugar)
End your culinary adventure on a sweet note with this comforting and creamy dessert. Bubor Kacang features soft mung beans cooked in a rich, fragrant coconut milk sauce and sweetened with palm sugar. The subtle flavours and smooth texture of this traditional Malay dessert will transport you straight to the heart of Southeast Asia.

Throughout the class, you’ll learn essential techniques for working with Malay ingredients like tamarind, palm sugar, and fresh herbs, as well as tips on achieving perfect balance in flavour and seasoning. By the end of the class, you’ll be equipped with the skills to recreate these authentic dishes in your own kitchen.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Whats the difference between an individual ticket and a shared ticket?

An individual ticket is for anyone who wants an individual cooking station with their own set of ingredients, not to be shared with anyone else.T

The shared ticket allows you to bring a friend or family member, you would share the cooking station as well as sharing the ingredients to create the dishes together. The ticket is priced only slightly more than an individual ticket, meaning you both  get to experience the cooking class together without the need to buy two tickets.

If you are wanting to get the full experience and have your own individual dishes to taste and take home then we would recommend the individual ticket.
